Could Tammy Abraham win this season’s Golden Boot? The Chelsea striker is a man in form and could well end the season as the Premier League’s top scorer.Abraham has grasped his big chance in the Chelsea first team, scoring nine goals this season and forcing his way back into the England squad. And his rise has been reflected in the odds on sites like Sportsbettingdime.com, where you can track the odds from opening to big changes that are reflected too – he has moved all the way from +3700 to +700 in the market for Golden Boot winner.Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Liverpool’s former Chelsea man Mohamed Salah started as the early favourites, with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal not far from behind.Similar to Abraham, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has also had his odds shortened, from +1600 to +600.And the real surprise package has been Norwich’s Teemu Pukki, who has adapted well to the top flight since being a key player in the Canaries’ promotion.Pukki has found the going tougher in recent weeks, but at one stage earlier in the season his odds were drastically cut from +15000 – yes, 15 THOUSAND – to +1800.So can Abraham maintain his form and challenge for that Golden Boot? It’s certainly possible, although his first priority will be to keep his place in the Chelsea side nailed down. That place has not come easily, with Abraham impressing on loan in the Championship before finally being given a chance.Blues boss Frank Lampard has shown great faith in Abraham but has also warned him that he will lose his place the moment his form dips.Could ‘Batman’ return? That could open the door to Michy Batshuayi, who scored a cracking goal against Manchester United on Wednesday and really looked the part.It was a big chance for Batshuayi, who has so often flattered to deceive, to make a statement – and this time he did not disappoint. It was the Belgian’s fifth goal in as many games and, if Abraham goes off the boil, Batshuayi could well be a useful option later in the season.Au revoir, Olivier? While Abraham and Batshuayi battle for supremacy, Olivier Giroud appears to have reached the end of the road at Stamford Bridge.Batshuayi playing against United in place of the rested Abraham was a strong indication that Lampard sees Giroud as third-choice and it seems unlikely that the Frenchman will be at Chelsea for much longer. Two years after his move from Arsenal, Giroud seems further away than ever of being a first-choice player for the Blues. A number of clubs in his native France have been linked with him and it seems like the right time for him to move on. I won’t sleep tonight, but at the same time I have to look at the overall journey of this Fiorentina team and say we are on the right track.“It’s very complicated once it gets to the final seconds and I was forced into some substitutions by fitness problems. We know Atalanta are so good at comebacks.“I have to look at the positives, as the team was solid for most of the game.”

Former Ohio State running back stands in the end zone during warmups of a game against Illinois Oct. 15, 2011 in Champaign, Ill. OSU won, 17-7.Lantern file photoFormer Ohio State running back Jaamal Berry had it in his head that he was going to be able to showcase his talents for NFL scouts and general managers at OSU’s Pro Day Friday. But then Berry said he was told he couldn’t, because of an NFL rule that was “new” to him.“I guess it’s a rule that I could only do it in my hometown, like a hometown state school or school I was just attending,” Berry said. That school was Murray State in Murray, Ky., where Berry transferred to prior to the 2012 season. He was suspended from the OSU football team Nov. 2, 2011, after his involvement with an incident that saw him charged with assault, battery and disorderly conduct.Former Buckeye linebacker Etienne Sabino — who graduated from OSU after the 2012 season — was allowed to participate Friday, because of a rule that allows players who are just one year removed and not with an NFL team to work out at their former college, an OSU spokesman said.In Berry’s case, he was unable to work out Friday with former Buckeyes who he called “some of his best friends” because he has not been at the school since being charged. An OSU spokesman said Friday he “was under the impression” Berry was going to work out Friday.“(I thought) that he had gotten some approval like that,” the spokesman said.Despite the circumstances under which Berry left OSU, he said he still views his time at OSU as a positive in his life.“Leaving here was a big wake up call for me, even going to a smaller school,” Berry said. “A lot of things that I got here wasn’t going down at Murray State. It made me grow up real fast and appreciate the moment, live in the moment. So I’m definitely grateful for that.”Berry played in 11 games as a Buckeye from 2010-11, averaging 25.4 yards per kickoff return after being recruited by former OSU coach Jim Tressel.Berry said he called his former coach after he graduated from Murray State in December, to thank him.“When I graduated and finished I let him know I graduated and thanked him for the opportunity to experience some of the best years of my life to come here,” Berry said. The former OSU running back — who is from Pinecrest, Fla. — said he might go back to his home state to see if he can get a chance to show scouts what he can do, after he talks to his agent.
Marco Asensio has revealed he never thought about leaving Real Madrid following his excellent display for Spain in Tuesday’s demolition of Croatia.Asensio looked unstoppable in the match as he scored one and set up four more as Spain condemned World Cup finalists Croatia to the biggest defeat of their history – a 6-0 rout in the Nations League. The young Madrid midfielder was linked to Champions League finalists Liverpool for a permanent move. However, Asensio – who has five years remaining on his contract – told reporters: “I’ve never had the intention to go anywhere.”Zidane reveals Sergio Ramos injury concern for Real Madrid Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Zinedine Zidane has put Sergio Ramos’ availability for Real Madrid’s trip to Sevilla next weekend in doubt after withdrawing him against Levante. The 22-year-old has enjoyed successes since joining from Mallorca in 2014.He has won a combined total of eight trophies including the Spanish League title and two Champions League crowns“This is my third season, in this one, I think I have continuity and more prominence, and I’m seeing the performance I’m doing,” Asensio said.Los Blancos will be looking to maintain their winning streak when they visit Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
Former winger Mario Basler has advised Luka Jovic against pursuing a transfer to either Barcelona or Real Madrid. The 21-year-old forward has enjoyed a sensational second stint on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt this season and leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with 14 goals in 20 appearances.Jovic’s eye-catching progress in Germany has reportedly captured the interest of La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, while Premier League side Chelsea and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have also been linked. It’s understood that Frankfurt plan to take up their buy option on Jovic this summer for just €6m and will then allegedly make him available for sale with an asking price of €60m.Although reports indicate that bids in the region of €35m are more likely to be offered instead for Jovic’s signature, who is “honoured” by the strong interest in him.But Basler, who won two Bundesliga titles at Bayern between 1996 to 1999, has advised the young Serbian that staying at Frankfurt may be the best option for his career.La Liga Betting: Match-day 4 Stuart Heath – September 14, 2019 Despite it being very early into La Liga season, both Barcelona and Real Madrid have had unprecedented starts to their campaigns. With this in…“What good does it do me if I wear the Barcelona jersey, but sit on the bench?,” Basler told Der Hessische Rundfunk.Former Frankfurt coach Dragoslav Stepanovic has also advised his compatriot to think twice about leaving the Commerzbank-Arena at the end of the season.“He’s now showing that he can become a really good player,” said Stepanovic.“But if he makes a switch now, two or three people will be in front of him again. It could ruin his career.”After graduating through the youth ranks at Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, who famously defeated Liverpool 2-0 in the Champions League earlier this season, Jovic joined Benfica in February 2016 but struggled to make his mark in Portugal. The Serbia international has since spent the last two years over at Frankfurt and has found the net 22 times in 42 Bundesliga matches.FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY – OCTOBER 19: Luka Jovic of Eintracht Frankfurt (8) celebrates as he scores his team’s seventh goal and his fifth during the Bundesliga match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Fortuna Duesseldorf at Commerzbank-Arena on October 19, 2018 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
