first_imgHome » News » Agencies & People » Connells snaps up another multi-branch estate agency previous nextAgencies & PeopleConnells snaps up another multi-branch estate agencyHall & Benson, which operates five branches around the Derbyshire borders of the Peak District, has been bought.Nigel Lewis4th March 20210794 Views Connells’ extraordinary acquisitional romp continues with the purchase of Derbyshire estate agency Hall & Benson for an undisclosed sum.Hall & Benson is a full-service agency with five branches in the towns of Alfreton, Allestree, Belper, Heanor and Spondon offering sales, lettings, mortgages, survey and valuation as well as land and new homes services.It was founded in 1993 by John Hall (pictured) and Mark Benson (below) who are to remain in order to help the transition over to Connells ownership, along with 35 staff, although it company accounts show it had 47 staff at the end of 2019.Given its local reputation and track record, the Hall & Benson brand is to be retained.“We are delighted to welcome Hall & Benson to Connells Group, it’s a business that we have long since admired and the acquisition forms just part of our growth strategy within Derbyshire,” says David Plumtree, Connells Group Estate Agency Chief Executive.“It allows us to extend our presence in the local and wider market, and signals our ongoing commitment to high street estate agency and the continual development of our business.”Mark Benson, Director at Hall & Benson comments: “After building the business and team of Hall & Benson over the last 28 years, we were pleased to be approached by Connells, and ultimately to pass the responsibility for maintaining the service and success our clients have come to expect to a company we trust.”The company’s MD is also understood to be remaining – Rob Liversidge (pictured), who was the founding sales director when Burchell Edwards was established in 1995.
