View Comments Broadway.com broke the news that Beverley Knight, the Queen of British Soul, will headline the return engagement of Cats in the West End, and we now have full casting for the production. The revival, which ended its engagement at the London Palladium in April, will once again play the venue this Christmas. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic show will run October 23 through January 2, 2016.Joining Knight as Grizabella at the Jellicle Ball will be Jack Butterworth as Rumpus/Alonzo, Danielle Cato as Cassandra, Javier Cid as Macavity/Admetus, Luke Cinque-White as Carbucketty, Emma Lee Clark as Bombalurina, Jon-Scott Clark as Bill Bailey, Gabrielle Cocca as Tantomile, Harry Francis as Mungojerrie, Tarryn Gee as Jemima, Evan James as Skimbleshanks, Matt Krzan as Munkustrap, Georgie Leatherland as Rumpelteazer, Adam Linstead as Old Deuteronomy, Paul F Monaghan as Gus/Growltiger/Bustopher Jones, Jane Quinn as Jennyanydots, Mark John Richardson as Quaxo/ Mistoffelees, Clare Rickard as Jellylorum, Jordan Shaw as Pouncival, Hannah Kenna Thomas as Victoria/ White Cat, James Titchener as Coricopat, Marcquelle Ward as Tugger and Anna Woodside as Demeter. Rounding out the company will be Megan Armstrong, Lindsay Atherton, Lucy Brushett, Oliver Ramsdale, Alex Pinder and Barry Haywood.Cats, featuring a score by Lloyd Webber and lyrics by T.S. Eliot, Trevor Nunn and Richard Stilgoe, ran for 21 years in London and 18 years on Broadway. It won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the tuner tells the story of the Jellicle cats and each cat’s individual quest to be selected as the lucky one who will ascend to “the Heaviside Layer.”With direction by Nunn, Cats is designed by John Napier with choreography by Gillian Lynne.Cats is expected back on Broadway in 2016.
